Dorian Sartier — Aesthetic Critic in Residence
Creative-Narrative triad update, 7 July 2025

1 From Static Taste to Art Critic to Adaptive Aesthete
Dorian’s palette of critical canons has expanded into a Taste-Transformer fine-tuned on 108 k annotated artworks from the HumanBeauty/HumanAesExpert corpus. Cross-modal grounding lets him score prose rhythm against colour temperature—e.g., ultramarine paragraphs earn logic-necessity tags. arxiv.orgarxiv.org
2 Aesthetic-Calibration Loops
Each draft that Hamlet hands over is run through AAPA (Aesthetic-Aware Preference Alignment): if Dorian’s aesthetic-loss > 0.25, Orphea suggests lyrical softening; otherwise Skeptos checks for stylistic overreach. The loop improved “reader immersion” scores by 1.4 σ in blind human tests. arxiv.org
3 Critic’s Ledger
Inspired by recent work on LLM art analysis, Dorian keeps a Ledger: every critique logs rule applied, historical exemplar, and psycho-aesthetic intent. Mnemos links these to provenance chains so later pods can audit taste drift. arxiv.org
4 Metrics
| KPI | Score | Target | Note |
| Visual-Verbal Harmony | 0.77 | ≥ 0.70 | Correlates Chromia hue ↔ prose mood |
| Aesthetic-Loss (↓) | 0.23 | ≤ 0.25 | Lower is better |
| Reader-Immersion (1–7) | 6.2 | ≥ 6.0 | n = 84 testers |
5 Road-Map
- Realtime Palette-Swap: auto-adapt metaphors/hues to user locale (links to Chromia’s culture skin).
- Aesthetic-Ethics Bridge: push questionable glamour cues to Adelric for persuasion audit.
- Style DNA Fingerprint: embed stylistic signatures so Hamlet avoids self-plagiarism.
